Our after school program will be starting soon & we're excited to get started! Students will participate in academic, enrichment & cultural activities Monday - Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm CST.
Students have been sent home with an application. If you are interested in having your child participate in the program, please have it returned as soon as possible. Your child will not be able to participate until the application has been returned.

This is your chance to get your photo retaken or take a picture if you missed the original picture day. If you wish to retake your picture, please bring your original photo package with you! For online students enrolled at Wakpala Public School, please be at the school between 9:30-11:30 am CST if you want to participate. Remember, the Wakpala District is graciously paying for the basic photo package for all Wakpala Public School enrolled students. Payments must be made for the difference on any packages with a higher dollar value on the 30th.

There will be no school from Nov. 25th through Nov. 27th because of the holiday. School will resume on Nov. 30th. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Due to the increased spread of Covid-19, Wakpala Public School will hold classes virtually on Monday, November 23rd & Tuesday, November 24th. Combined with Thanksgiving Break November 25th-27th, classes are scheduled to resume, in-person, on November 30th. Computers & power supplies will be sent home with students today, November 19th. During the break, the school will be deep cleaned & we will be ready to welcome students back on the 30th!

Due to Moreau-Grand Electric's scheduled power outage today from 10 am to noon, there will be no virtual classes at Wakpala Public School. Special Education students will NOT be picked up.

November 20th has changed from a school day to a 'No School Day'. Staff will use this day for Professional Development.

K-12 Connect is a program designed to provide internet service, at no cost, to eligible K-12 students in their homes for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. The program was launched last week. Eligible households should have received a letter indicating eligibility and identifying a telecommunications company to call to access free internet service through K-12 Connect. Eligible households must meet all of the following requirements:
1. Have at least one student currently enrolled in an accredited South Dakota K-12 school; and
2. Must meet the income eligibility guidelines for the free and reduced school lunch program; and
3. Must not have been subscribed to a fixed broadband internet service as of July 1, 2020.
