Wakpala Public School will be holding parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, February 10th.

There will be no after school program Tuesday, February 9th, due to the forecasted cold.

Due to the forecasted cold, Wakpala Public School will be starting 2 hours late tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9th.

Due to continuing concern for cold temperatures, there will be no after school program today, Monday, February 8th. All students will ride their regular 3:30 bus routes today.

There will be a 2 hour late start today, Monday, February 8th due to cold weather & road conditions.

Although Wakpala Public School didn’t offer girls and boys basketball seasons due to escalating threat of COVID-19, the SD High School Activities Association has now approved allowing our school, and other Indian Country schools who also didn’t offer winter sports, the opportunity to work with SDHSAA to create basketball leagues and tournament games in the spring.  Further details to follow so please stay tuned. There is no school, Monday, January 18th in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

Just a reminder: The 21st Century after school program runs Monday - Thursday. All kids will ride the normal 3:30 bus routes on Fridays.

Earlier, we announced that Wakpala Public School was awarded the All Kids Bike program. All Kids Bike® is a national movement led by the Strider® Education Foundation, on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. We received our bikes. The kids were ecstatic!!
