A few schedule reminders to note:
There IS school tomorrow, October 1st. Parent Teacher Conferences are October 6th. No School Friday, October 8th. No School Monday, October 11th.

Picture Day is Friday, September 24th, 2021. Wakpala District has graciously decided to pay for the Basic picture package for ALL Wakpala Public School students again this year; a $14.99 value! Please complete the order form & have your child bring it to school with them on Friday, September 24. If you choose a package OTHER THAN the basic package, you must include payment for the difference.

IHS Public Health nurses will be providing a voluntary COVID-19 vaccination event for students age 12 years and older at the Wakpala Public School gymnasium on September 22 from 1-3 pm. In order for IHS to prepare & have the appropriate number of vaccines available, please notify the Wakpala School if your child plans to be vaccinated.

Wakpala Public School will dismiss early today, Wednesday, September 15, at 1 pm due to the impact of Covid-19 on several students and staff. There will be no in-person classes on Thursday & Friday, September 16 & 17. However, students in grades 4 – 12 will take their computers home today and will be required to participate in google classroom remote on-line learning on Thursday & Friday. Students in grades K-3 will take home paper learning packets today and must return completed work on Monday. We will return to school, in-person, on Monday, September, 20. The volleyball game scheduled on Thursday, September 16, and the cross country meet and volleyball game scheduled on Saturday, September, 18, have all been postponed. Also, please keep your child home from school if they don’t feel well.

Today, a Vaccination Incentive Application for children 12 & up will be sent home with your child. The incentive is $1,000 per fully vaccinated child. Please review the information & call the school with any questions.

IHS Public Health nurses will be at the Wakpala Public School gymnasium on September 22 from 1-3 pm for a voluntary COVID-19 vaccination event for staff and students age 12 years and older. A student who is under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to fill out paperwork and receive the vaccine. The parent/guardian must come to the front office to check-out the student before receiving the vaccine.
