Cross Country practice starts Friday (8/14) at 8:00 a.m. Athletes need to meet in front of the school at this time and have a ride home at 9:00 a.m.

Wakpala School plans to reopen with first day of school on August 20, 2020. In light of COVID, a Re-opening Planning Committee has been established and is working on a Re-opening Safety Plan. The committee includes school board members, school administration, teachers, parents/guardians and an SRST Council Representative. The Plan will include safety strategies covering areas of: wearing of face masks and shields, physical distancing, frequent handwashing, temperature checks, cleaning and sanitizing, classroom desk configurations, in-person classroom instruction, on-line remote learning, communication, food service and transportation protocols. As the Safety Plan is finalized, it will be shared with all parties. Stayed tuned!

A survey was mailed out yesterday to all parents of our enrolled students. Your input is very important to us & we value your response! Please return that survey in the enclosed self-addressed, stamped envelope no later than August 7th, 2020. We will put all responses post-marked by August 7th into a drawing for one of 5 -$50 and 5- $25 gift cards!

First day of school is August 20th. New student registration will take place August 12, 13, and 14 from 9am to 3pm CST. If you were enrolled at Wakpala School last year, you do not need to come in to register. Please call the office if you have any changes in address or contact information. You must contact the school during the registration period to let us know if you plan to keep your child home and do remote on-line learning. When we know who and how many, we will set a time and date for parents/guardians and child(ren)to come to the school for a remote on-line learning orientation and training session.

All Wakpala School parents and guardians of enrolled students are invited to a meal starting at 6 pm on Wednesday, August 5th, at Wakpala School, followed by a Back to School meeting to learn about the school’s re-opening safety plan

If your child had a physical last year, one will NOT be required this year. If your child needs a physical this year, please see the attached information.

Wakpala Public School will continue their Open Feeding Site status for ANY child 0-18, regardless of their enrollment. Meals can be picked up at the school from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm CST each Monday & Wednesday. Orders must be placed by calling the School at 845-3040 each Monday & Wednesday between 10:30 am - 1:00 pm CST. The Monday pickup will include breakfast & lunch for Monday & Tuesday. The Wednesday pickup will include breakfast & lunch for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
