Alphabet Marriage Kindergarten celebrated the marriage between the letters Q and U. It is a fun way to remember the spelling "Qu" pattern that you never write a Q without a U. The class had a wedding, cake and wedding dance.
Mask Mandate Lifted The Smee School Board has lifted the face mask requirement starting Monday, March 14. Moving forward, masks will be optional. The Board reserves the right to implement the mask requirement again if/when factors arise that necessitate it.

Wakpala Teacher of the Year 2022 - Congratulations to Heather Overland!! Heather Overland has been named the Wakpala School's Teacher of the Year 2022! Mrs. Overland is a 3rd-5th grade Teacher and 21st Century after-school program Director. Mrs. Overland will now go on to complete for the South Dakota Regional Teacher of the Year 2023. The Regional winner then enters the SD Teacher of the Year process. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate Mrs. Overland & recognize all the great things she's doing!
