Air Quality Our 6th grade science students and 7th grade exploratory students are participating in the EPA Air Quality Flag Program. They are learning about air quality and monitoring air conditions using the Purple Air website found at https://map.purpleair.com/1/mAQI/a0/p604800/cC5#7.09/45.355/-100.359.Students determine which flag to put outside, based on the Air Quality Index (AQI). The flag serves as a visual representation of air quality. Green- GoodYellow- ModerateOrange- Unhealthy for Sensitive GroupsRed- UnhealthyPurple- Very UnhealthyMaroon- Hazardous
Jr. High Basketball meeting This Wednesday, Oct. 30th at 6:00 pm CST there will be a parent/guardian meeting in the Wakpala School commons for Junior High Boys and Girls Basketball players.
Free Movie The 2025 Senior Class will be providing a free movie on Saturday, October 26th.There will also be free clothing items available (some new & some gently used) that have been donated by the School & staff. Please take what you can use!
Hearing Screening The South Dakota School for the Deaf (SDSD) will conduct free hearing screenings at our school, for grades K-3, 5, 7, and 11 on October 24, 2024.
No After-School Program October 21st There will be no after-school program today, Monday, October 21st due to staff illnesses.
Screenings & Immunizations IHS Public Health nurses and Standing Rock Diabetes Program will be at the Wakpala School on October 16-17 for our annual K-12th grade health screenings. Flu shots and other immunizations will be available for students with a signed consent form by their parent/guardian. Immunization consent forms were handed out at parent teacher conferences and sent home with their child last week. If you have any questions, please call the school nurse.
